My condolence goes out to the Gwynn family. May he rest in peace. As a Mets fan I always enjoyed seeing him play and wished that he could be on our team. He was classy both on and off the field. One of the nicest and greatest players of all time.

This is sad day for baseball fans everywhere. Today we all lost one of the games legends, as well as one of the nicest & friendliest athletes ever and one of the games greatest hitters ever Tony Gwynn. May he forever rest in peace. Definitely a sad day for the entire sports world.

It's such a shame that MLB teams like the Padres are allowed to stay so offensively disabled or handicapped without the commissioner stepping in and putting the owners under review.
